The Solo Desk is an innovate desk dedicated to individual study. The slightly more enclosed design differs from open sided desks, to help better focus learning, the student on the task in hand. Whilst removing distractions from the students view at desk level, the sloped sides allow for teaching staff to clearly observe and monitor the work and behaviour of the student using the solo desk. The features of this design include a magnetic whiteboard as a place to display helpful support materials or for making notes; as well as sides upholstered in sound absorbing fabrics to improve concentration of the user even in non-silent environments.
Variations of the Solo Desk include the Solo Duo and the Solo Bench. The Solo Duo is perfect for facilitating one-to-one learning, whether this be teaching staff supporting a student, or two students working together. The design of this module is again to minimise distractions from tasks whilst not having to separate a student completely from the classroom to provide this type of support, ultimately creating a more inclusive learning environment. The Solo Bench is a design suited to circulation and breakout spaces. It provides a seating area for students to use socially or a meeting place for brief group discussions.
All Solo furniture is designed to tesselate, so that when purchased in multiple they can be arranged to fit conveniently together within the space. Available in a range of colours the solo furniture is suitable to complement any classroom design and theme.
